Material manipulation

Week 02 of the Studio Technologies class was all about materials and manipulation of materials. We were given a really fun activity, which I am going to introduce into my teaching (as soon as I have teaching that is long enough to do such an activity -at the moment I am only doing  a few hours at a time).

We started with a material, and had 10 mins to make something, anything. We then abandoned our work and moved onto the next material (our peer’s abandoned work), and did this for all the material. At the start it was intimidating to work with the materials, and you felt some kind of loyalty to the previous person’s work. Towards the end I felt way more free, and had a lot of fun thinking with my hands.
