Design Charrette
The final day of “Design Education for Sustainable Futures” was spent participating in a “design charrette”
A charrette is a collaborative design method, where one participant spends 10 minutes outlining an idea, and then the group collectively provide suggestions / ideas / insights for 20 minutes, writing them down on a large sheet of paper (we all write on the same roll, and cut it at the end).
Before and after the “charette”.
It was a good process, and more effective than the usual group tutorial where you find yourself heading to sleep after the 5th speaker. Because we were participants in the process, we had to listen quite actively and it made space for some lively discussion (whoops, jeers, and cheers!).
